Skyfire SF2 Vantis Integration – DRONELIFE

Partnership aims to enhance advanced UAS operations in North Dakota
Skyfire Consulting, a leading public safety UAS consulting group, has announced a partnership with Thales USA, a prominent global player in advanced technologies, to integrate the Skyfire SF2 drone into Vantis, North Dakota’s advanced UAS operations system. Thales selected the Skyfire SF2 for its versatility and payload-agnostic design, which are essential for comprehensive testing of advanced airspace management tools and air traffic systems.
The Skyfire SF2, noted for its adaptability, is an American-made drone specifically designed for public safety, critical sectors, and medical delivery. The 22-inch mid-sized multirotor aircraft is built to withstand extreme environments commonly found across the United States.

“Skyfire is honored to work with Thales and be an ecosystem partner in Vantis with our in-house designed and manufactured SF2 aircraft, and help contribute to the vital safety of airspace,” stated Skyfire founder and CEO Matt Sloane.
Thales has already received the initial delivery of SF2 aircraft and plans to commence flights as the northern spring weather transitions. The selection of the Skyfire SF2 highlights its modular design and ability to carry various payloads, which are crucial for Thales’ testing of instrument landing systems and other air traffic systems.
“Thales is proud to leverage its expertise as a systems integrator, collaborating with industry leaders like Skyfire to deliver comprehensive drone solutions for our customers,” said Sean Roy, UAS operations manager at Thales. “Vantis exemplifies this approach, and Skyfire’s innovative aircraft play a key role in our flight-testing efforts.”
The collaboration between Skyfire and Thales underscores a shared commitment to advancing UAS technology for public safety and critical sectors. The SF2’s payload-agnostic setup allows for the integration of diverse sensors, which is necessary for testing Vantis’ advanced UAS integration capabilities and ensuring safer and more efficient airspace management.
