Amsterdam Drone Week 2024: Still Time to Register!
Amsterdam is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Amsterdam Drone Week (ADW) from April 16 to 18, offering a unique opportunity for professionals in the air mobility sector to explore new technologies and innovative solutions. The event, themed “Shaping the Future of Scalable Drone and Air Mobility Services,” aims to bring together global leaders and innovators to foster worldwide collaboration and integrate skies globally. With four weeks to go, there is still time to register and join the  global convergence shaping the future of air mobility.

ADW 2024 will feature an expansive program with speakers such as Michele Merkle, Director of the Air Navigation Bureau at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); Nick Careen, Senior Vice President Operations at the International Air Transport Association (IATA); and other distinguished figures from the industry. The event will mark the inaugural Global Air Mobility Conference, a significant step toward establishing a global framework for harmonized regulations. This initiative is supported by key partnerships with leading aviation organizations and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
“The Global Air Mobility Conference can serve as an important forum towards the AAM 2024 Symposium at ICAO’s Headquarters in Montréal on 9-12 September 2024. In Amsterdam, we can inform the global conversation and leverage ongoing efforts towards stakeholder cooperation in this rapidly growing industry,” said Michele Merkle, according to an Amsterdam Drone Week press release.
The agenda will cover a wide variety of topics, including the future of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, drone logistics, and the challenges and benefits for current mobility systems. Panels, workshops, and lectures will address key questions about supporting the deployment of advanced air mobility, fostering public trust in new technologies, and aligning Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) certification with technology development.

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is highlighted as a means to connect communities and enhance transportation services through drones, promising time and infrastructure savings for urban and rural areas alike. Cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Hamburg, and some from Japan, alongside countries such as the US, Germany, Kenya, Canada, Oman, Ghana, and Rwanda, will share their visions for sustainable urban ecosystems and U-space implementation.
The show floor will feature innovative companies showcasing the latest products and solutions, including a special start-up pavilion highlighting cutting-edge technologies in inspection, maintenance, and logistics. The pavilion will demonstrate the versatility and potential of drone technology in fostering a sustainable and efficient future.
Amsterdam Drone Week 2024 serves as a global platform for the air mobility sector, structured around five thematic pillars crucial for constructing a global regulatory framework for scalable drone and air mobility services. With the support of founding and industry partners, the conference will engage decision-makers in vital discussions on the future of air mobility.  Register here.
