Inspired Flight Gremsy IF800 Tomcat VIO F1

Empowering Law Enforcement and Utility Sectors with Cutting-Edge Technology, the Integrated Solution Promises Extended Flight Times and Unprecedented Data Collection Capabilities
by DRONELIFE Staff Writer Ian J. McNabb
Inspired Flight Technologies (IFT) and Gremsy recently announced a partnership pairing the IF800 Tomcat drone with the Gremsy VIO F1 to create a new all-in-one package providing excellent Electro-Optical/Infra-red (EO/IR) performance. Focused on law enforcement, security, and utility customers, the new package combines IFT’s expertise on drone creation with Gremsy’s advanced gimbal technologies.

The VIO F1 features a 4k zoom sensor, a high-resolution 640×512 radiometric Flir Boson thermal camera, and an integrated laser rangefinder. Connected to the Tomcat by an innovative “smart dovetail” mounting system, the combined unit can reach flight times of up to 40 minutes which can be extended via hot-swappable batteries. All the footage is then streamed wirelessly to IFT’s Ground Control software. In addition, the rangefinder provides precise target data at up to 2400m and an AI tracking system assists with object framing.
“We’re excited to bring to market the IF800 Tomcat integrated with the VIO F1 payload as our NDAA-compliant EO/IR solution for Public Safety and Energy Utility customers,” says Adam Bilmes, Director of Business Development at Inspired Flight, “The capabilities of the VIO F1 during product testing seriously exceeded our expectations, particularly the AI and zoom functions of the camera, and will unlock new levels of data-collection capabilities for our customers.”
“Gremsy is excited to collaborate with Inspired Flight, integrating our advanced VIO F1 payload into the IF800 comprehensive drone system. We believe this seamlessly integrated solution ensures outstanding user experience while addressing specific customer needs,” says Tu Do, Research & Development Manager at Gremsy.

DroneLife’s showcase of the Tomcat drone was released this summer and highlighted its US manufacturing and intuitive UX.
The combined system will be available in Q1 of 2024. More on Inspired Flight is available here. More on Gremsy is available here.
